A wide range of informal and formal assessments are utilized to assess student learning and to guide instructional decision making. Informal assessments include: teacher observations; teacher-student conferencing; student written, spoken, and presented products; student self-assessments, notebook checks and quick writes. Formal assessments include: common formative assessments and Interim Assessments (which are both formative and summative). Interim Assessments are administered in English, Math, Science, and History at the end of every cycle. Students also participate in school-wide assessments from which data is collected, analyzed, and evaluated.
In alignment with new CT State requirements, all Grade 9-11 students complete an End of Year Project. Grade 12 students complete a Senior Capstone Project.
