Stamford Academy continually performs a curriculum review process in all curricular areas. The process included three stages:
1. Reactions to the current curriculum were collected from administrators, faculty, staff, parents, and students.
2. Current research was collected from administrators, faculty, and staff after attendance at professional conferences, reading of professional journals, and visits to other schools.
3. Decisions were made about revisions that needed to be made with the curricula, and those revisions were made with final approval from the school’s administrative team.
We referenced the Connecticut State Department of Education, the Common Core State Standards Initiative, and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development websites with related documents for its curriculum development.
New administrators, teachers, and staff are oriented in the use of the curricula and its varied components, and continuous professional development is provided to administrators, teachers, and staff to ensure that the curriculum is faithfully implemented.
